Gary Olivo - Head Football Coach
LD Bell's head football coach brings with him 31 years of experience working with Texas High School Football Programs. Prior to coming to the HEB school district in 2003 as Boys' Athletic Director, Gary Olivo was Head Football Coach and Boys' Athletic Coordinator at Fossil Ridge High School. While at Fossil Ridge, Coach Olivo amassed a record of 22-14 taking the Panthers to post season play twice, reaching the Area Round in 2000 and the State Semifinals in 2001. In his second year at L.D. Bell, he took the team to the Texas State Playoffs.
Prior to Fossil Ridge, Coach Olivo was the Offensive Coordinator at Grapevine High School for 15 years. During this time, Grapevine won two State Championships. Previously, Coach Olivo held the position of Head Football Coach and Athletic Director at Graham High School. He also coached at Keller, San Antonio Madison, Waco High, Channelview and Plainview High Schools. At Plainview and Channelview, Coach Olivo was the also the Head Baseball Coach.
During his collegiate career, Coach Olivo played football at Angelo State University and baseball at Lubbock Christian College, where he completed his undergraduate degree. He went on to obtain his Master's Degree at the University of North Texas. He played both football and baseball at Coronado High School in Lubbock, where he met his wife, Cindy. They have been married for 31 years and have two married sons, Tyson and Ryan. Tyson played four years of football at Southwest Texas State University. Ryan played four years of collegiate baseball finishing at Dallas Baptist University .

J.D. Martinez - Offensive Coordinator / Offensive Line
Coach Martinez has 15 years of coaching experience as he enters his third year at L. D. Bell. He has coached several teams in the playoffs including Fossil Ridge High School in the 2000 State Semi-Final. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and he teaches World History at Bell. His wife's name is Cyndi and their daughter Maddie is five years old.

Andy Modica - Defensive Coordinator / Inside Linebackers
Coach Modica has 20 years of coaching experience in Texas and Louisiana. While coaching at Grapevine High School, the team won the 4A State Championships in 1996 and 1998. Coach Modica is a graduate of Northwestern State of Louisiana. At Bell, he teaches Geometry and also coaches wrestling. His wife's name is Debbie and they have four children: Jessica, 19; Andrew, 16; Anna, 13; and Mitchell, 11.

Dave Sammons - Outside Linebackers
Coach Sammons has 31 years of coaching experience including coaching at Fossil Ridge High School and at Grapevine HighSchool as they won their State Championships in 1996 and 1998. He was a member of the Coaching Staff of the Year in 1998. He is L. D. Bell's Head Coach for Powerlifting and he also teaches Health. His wife's name is Dorothy and they have twins, Kyle and Kristy. Kyle coaches and teaches at BJH and Kristy is also a teacher.

Gerry Stanford - Wide Receivers
Coach Stanford has 8 years of coaching experience including time coaching at Grapevine High School. At L.D. Bell, he also coaches Track and teaches History. His wife's name is Casey.

Roger Benefield - Offensive Line
We welcome Coach Benefield to L.D. Bell High School. He comes to us with 28 years of coaching experience. He has coached at Brewer, Weatherford, Grapevine, and Coppell High Schools. He helped to coach the Grapevine High School team to two State Football Championships and he also coached in the Oil Bowl in 2001. At L.D. Bell, his duties will also include coaching baseball and teaching Social Studies. He is looking forward to what he enjoys most about coaching and that is just being on the field with the kids. Coach Benefield is a graduate of Baylor University and is married to Nancy. They have two children Lance, 26 and Brooke, 19.

Mike Brewster - Defensive Line
Coach Brewster has 19 years of experience coaching in the HEB-ISD, including 8 years at Hurst Jr. High and 11 years at L.D. Bell. He has coached the Blue Raiders in the Playoffs in 1997, 2001, 2002, and 2006. He also coaches Track and teaches World History. He was a four year letterman at McMurry University in Abilene. He and his wife Tricia have two children, Ryan, 7, and Kyle, 3.

Taylor Farden - Secondary - Safeties
Coach Farden will begin his 4th year of coaching, his 2nd at L.D. Bell. Previously he coached at Waco High School when they played Lufkin in the State Playoffs. Coach Farden played football at Baylor University and he played for Coach Olivo on the Grapevine High School State Championship team. Coach Farden also coaches soccer at Bell and teaches keyboarding. He is happy to have been able to re-start the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chapter at L.D. Bell. His wife's name is Lisa.

Charles P. Bryant, III - Offensive Line
Coach Bryant has 12 years of coaching experience and this will be his second at L. D. Bell. He has previously coached at high schools in Virginia and North Carolina, including being the head coach at Menchville High School. In North Carolina, he helped his team overcome a previous losing season to advance to the State Playoffs. At Bell, Coach Bryant also teaches World History and U.S. History. He gained his B.A. in History and Political Science from Virginia Union University and his M. A. in Teaching from Norfolk State University. His wife Suzanne is a Nursing Professor at TCU and they have a son whom they call "Que".

Mike Stokic - Head Athletic Trainer
Mr. Stokic has 29 years of experience as an athletic trainer. He was Host Athletic Trainer for the 1994 World Cup and for the 2003 USA Figure Skating Championships. He also served as the Trainer for the 2006 High School All Star Baseball Game. At Bell, Mr. Stokic also teaches Health. His wife's name is Mary.

Clarrisa Golden - Athletic Trainer
Mrs. Golden has 9 years of experience as an athletic trainer. At Bell, she also teaches Science and Health. Her husband's name is Kevin and they have two daughters: Katie, 11 and baby Aurora ("Rory") who turned one this past summer.
