ASSISTANT COACHES J.D. Martinez, Offensive Coordinator/Running Backs Coach Martinez has 17 years of coaching experience as he enters his fifth year at L. D. Bell. He has coached several teams in the playoffs including Fossil Ridge High School in the 2001 State Semi-Final. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and he teaches World History at Bell. His wife's name is Cyndi and their daughter Maddie is seven years old. Mark Smith, Defensive Coordinator/Corneracks Coach Smith will begin his 10th year of coaching and first at Bell High School. Prior to L.D.Bell, Coach Smith served as Defensive Quality Control Coach at the University of Oklahoma, Defensive Coordinatior at Irving MacArthur High School, and Secondary Coach at Colleyville Heritage High School. Coach Smith is married to Michelle and they have two children Makenna 5 and Micah 1. Dave Sammons, Outside Linebackers Coach Sammons has 32 years of coaching experience including coaching at Fossil Ridge High School and at Grapevine High School as they won their State Championships in 1996 and 1998. He was a member of the Coaching Staff of the Year in 1998. He is L. D. Bell's Head Coach for Powerlifting and he also teaches Health. His wife's name is Dorothy and they have twins, Kyle and Kristy and granddaughter Rylee, with two more grandkids to be born during this season. Taylor Farden, Secondary - Safeties Coach Farden will begin his 5th year of coaching, his 3rd at L.D. Bell. Previously he coached at Waco High School when they played Lufkin in the State Playoffs. He graduated with a business degree from Baylor University and previously played for Coach Olivo on the Grapevine High School State Championship team. Coach Farden also coaches Soccer at Bell and teaches Keyboarding. He is happy to have been able to re-start the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chapter at L.D. Bell. His wife's name is Lisa and in April of 2008 they added a baby girl to the family; her name is Maile. Mike Brewster, Defensive Line Coach Brewster has 21 years of experience coaching in the HEBISD, including 8 years at Hurst Jr. High and 13 years at L.D. Bell. He has coached the Blue Raiders in the Playoffs in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, 2008. He also coaches Track and teaches World History. He was a four year letterman at McMurry University in Abilene. He and his wife Tricia, have two children, Ryan, 9, and Kyle, 5. Gerry Stanford, Wide Receivers Coach Stanford has 10 years of coaching experience including time coaching at Grapevine High School. At L.D. Bell, he also coaches Track and teaches History. His wife's name is Casey and daughter Payton Grace. Roger Benefield, Offensive Line Coach Benefield comes to us with 30 years of coaching experience. He has coached at Brewer, Weatherford, Grapevine, and Coppell High Schools. He helped to coach the Grapevine High School team to 2 State Football Championships and he also coached in the Oil Bowl in 2001. At L.D. Bell, his duties also include coaching Baseball and teaching Social Studies. What he enjoys most about coaching is just being on the field with the kids. Coach Benefield is a graduate of Baylor University and is married to Nancy. They have two children Lance, 28 and Brooke, 21. Russell Reichenbach, Defensive Ends Coach Reichenbach enters his second year with the L.D. Bell Football Coaching Staff. He was an All-State Baseball pitcher at L.D. Bell during his high school career. Coach Reichenbach went on to pitch at Baylor University and UT Arlington. He coaches both football and baseball for Bell. He feels very lucky to be back coaching at his Alma Mater. Charles P. Bryant, III, Offensive Line Coach Bryant has 13 years of coaching experience and this will be his third at L. D. Bell. He has previously coached at high schools in Virginia and North Carolina, including being the head coach at Menchville High School. In North Carolina, he helped his team overcome a previous losing season to advance to the State Playoffs. Coach Bryant also teaches World History and U.S. History at L.D. Bell. He gained his B.A. in History and Political Science from Virginia Union University and his M.A. in Teaching from Norfolk State University. His wife Suzanne is a Nursing Professor at TCU and they have a son, Charles IV. Mike Stokic, Athletic Trainer Mr. Stokic has 28 years of experience as an athletic trainer. He was Host Athletic Trainer for the 1994 World Cup and for the 2003 USA Figure Skating Championships. He also served as the Trainer for the 2006 High School All Star Baseball Game. At Bell, Mr. Stokic also teaches Health. His wife's name is Mary. Rikki Rice, Athletic Trainer Mrs. Rice has 6 years experience as an athletic trainer. At Bell she teaches Science. Her husband's name is Shawn and he is a professional archer.
